Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

While not a weapon to a group of Purple Dorsal Dragons, this female has taken the name of Weapon. She is mute and has eerie blue eyes, which she uses to her advantage when fighting. Her stare terrifies most of her enemies, or at least throws them off. While she is naturally anti-social, the other members of the group have grown on her and she seems happy around them.

Weapon is always dragged into things that the other members of the group want to do, though she doesn't fight against it. She may seem reluctant at first, but the Dorsal Dragon really does like to hang out with them, no matter what stupid or dangerous adventure they are on.

Weapon may be mute and anti-social, but she loves her group as if they were her family and she is loyal, willing to give her life for any of the members.
