Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Umbra is a very paranoid and nervous dragon. She is always a bit on edge when she's around other dragons as her trust has been broken before. Her former mate mangled her badly and killed her offspring due to his own selfish motives. She finally got courage, and fled from him after a long period of abuse. She was found in the woods by Lumen, curled up weeping in fear convinced that she was going to die. He healed her wounds, brought her back to the cave, and is ultimately her most trusted friend now. Due to this, she is always near him, as he makes her feel safe.
