Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It must be very shy since it keeps hiding from you.

It’s gotten slightly bigger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Missy-Toe is a tiny iguana-type dragon, forever frozen in her junior form. After her egg was stolen, the dragon carrying it was attacked by the clan, causing him to drop two eggs as he fled. Missy's green egg landed in a bunch of mistletoe high in a tree, so it was not found until the next day. One of the dragons saw a pink egg floating just above a mistletoe bunch. As she got to that egg, she also saw the little green egg. Both eggs were very cold and needed constant care. With all of the fuss in the nursery, the clan's hatchlings soon became little guardians of the eggs. Whenever they saw the eggs move, all of the little hatchlings would run calling for someone to come help the missy toe eggs. Firstborn Missy was so cute, tiny, and doomed never to grow to full size, that Missy-toe seemed the perfect name. Missy-toe is full of fun and loves everyone she meets, but her closest friend is Beany Baby, whom Missy feels saved her life when her egg floated over Missy's so that she was found.
