Yellow-Crowned Dragons are found in the hottest, driest regions of the desert. Although they thrive in these conditions, they do very poorly in cold or humid climates. These dragons are very fast fliers and skilled hunters, and usually feed on small, quick desert antelope. Yellow-Crowned Dragons are diurnal, and spend the night in underground burrows they dig or steal from other creatures. They are often seen out sunning themselves in the early morning sun, waiting for the heat of the day to set in.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Vartan Ruben is one of the healers of the desert oasis in her clan, a fortress that is a sanctuary for all her clan members that live in the desert clan territory. Vartan is there to heal and take care of the clan members when they are sick or wounded in the desert. Vartan's unique scales can absorb energy from the hot sun in the desert, allowing her to create a healing aura. Healing anyone who is near her. It is a unique skill that doesn't require magic making Vartan especially helpful for the Cassare dragons in her clan. Her aura glows in waves however. If a wound is severe for example the aura would have to take a long time for it to heal it. She also needs to absorb a large amount of sunlight for her abilities to work. Vartan is kind, gentle and loves beauty, harmony and peace. However, in her efforts to keep everyone happy, she finds it difficult to say 'NO' to anyone, and as a result, she ends up getting stressed. Vartan likes to play with her clan members despite being shy.
