Geode Dragons are closely related to Stone dragons. They are covered in a hard stone-like material as well as beautiful crystal. Their wings are entirely useless for flight, but they help attract mates. The dragons with the most brilliant and colorful crystals are more likely to mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sapphiro Glimmerstone is a young Geode Dragon who lives with the rest of his clan in a cave in the jungle. He is very contemplative and spends a lot of time alone, thinking deep thoughts. He is good friends with Bubble Berry Glitterspark, a young pink dragon whom he is teaching how to behave like a normal dragon, considering Bubble doesn't fear humans at all, even if they seem dangerous. He serves as the hatchlings' teacher in his clan, and comes from a long line of intelligent dragons. He hates taking care of the eggs, however, and usually makes another adult dragon do it when his "shift" to watch them comes up. He is very wise, and doesn't communicate with other dragons very much. Water Gazer, a Water Dragon, is one of his best friends, considering they are the only two in their clan who are flightless. His other best friend is Izar, as they are two of the smartest in their clan and both serve as teachers of the hatchlings.
