Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Like the egg it hatched from, it is a very shiny gold.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Eccentric is a peculiar dracling. She asked to be magicked into staying a hatchling forever so if she was ever killed her scales could be used to make beautiful decorations for the cave. She feels if she grows up, her scales will be scratched so they will not shine so wonderfully for Crazy's cave. <br/>Unknown to Eccentric, Crazy wanted her to think this because she is jealous of all dragons who know who their parents are, unless they were laid in the clan's cave. Crazy, as a dark green dragon, has many strange ideas from sitting in the cave underground all the time, and whispered these amazing things to Eccentric so she'd never want to grow up.<br/>Eccentric keeps Annoying Brat company on the hill outside the cave each day. Only she knows of Brat's loneliness, and will never tell the other dragons because of the pride gold dragons have in their beauty and supposed rank. Yet, she rubs herself down with dirt daily so the other clan dragons will not be jealous of her beauty.
