Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

This majestic purple dragon keeps herself well groomed, although her own beauty has made her somewhat vain and arrogant. She finds it hard to accept others' opinions and will get edgy if people challenge her opinion of herself. Despite this, when she's in a good mood she can be well-humoured to the point of being air-headed, and her heart is in the right place, at least. Her egocentric personality fortunately doesn't get in the way of her care for her clutch-sisters, children, and mate, Angieal.
