Frilled Dragons are smaller than most other breeds, but when threatened, they stretch out their wings and frills to appear larger. They generally do not like to fight and prefer hiding to confrontation. Frilled dragons live in small groups and often band together to scare off potential threats. Males also use their frills as a way to attract mates, with those displaying the “best” frills being more likely to breed.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ridiculous Mad Squirrel is just that; ridiculously mad, and thinks that she is a squirrel instead of a dragon. The moment that she entered the cave as an egg, she was trouble. While still inside the egg she would push hard enough to roll out of the nest. Luckily for her there was a strong dragon who watched over the nest who would put her back next to the others. When she was but a little frill she followed around a large guardian who would sit underneath the trees surrounding the cave to play with the squirrels. She did not think that this was odd, but a fun new game! She loved to chase the squirrels around, frightening them with her frills. It wasn't long though before she began chattering like a squirrel, and flaring her frills at anyone who happened to scare her before she ran to hide behind Squirrel's Ridiculous Friend. Now she is mated with the one who has protected her, and somewhere in her squirrel-like ridiculous heart loves him dearly.
