Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Franziska spent most of her life in a small clan of fellow whiptails, where she spent her days racing her companions. However, her true passion was battling, something that she did not share with the rest of her clan. When she matured, Franziska began searching for a battle-loving mate, who she found in Balthasar Sauda. Although it took many years to woo him, she finally won him over and now lives happily with him.
