Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a large, shield-like object at the end of its tail that it uses for protection.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Drandr, just like his father Gnard, is a natural leader and was the first frozen hatchling. He leads the small group of frozen hatchlings. Secretly, he has a little bit of a crush on another frozen hatchling, Cairla, but he will never mention it.

He woke one day, by his father and mother, and saw what responsibilities they have, and decided, then and there, the speak to Dranli (the clan's healer) if he could forever be a child. Dranli granted his wish, and thus here he is today. He will never grow old, or grow at all for that manner.
