Electric Dragons wield electricity with great prowess. Bright sparks race across these dragons’ bodies in a dazzling dance of light, complemented by the blindingly radiant sparks on their tails. Using their bellies and manes as stores for this electrical energy, Electric Dragons wield crackling magic, stunning and electrocuting their prey with a whip of their tail. During mating season it is typically those with the most brilliant sparks—an indicator of strength and hunting ability—that are drawn to each other.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A very talented successor of Germanium, Silicon has rapidly mastered what his older brother began. He is currently the Periodic Clan's head strategist, along with several less significant positions, and also sometimes doubles as Gold's advisor. He excels most at logic and mathematics, able to not only work out equations in his head but also put his skill into practice, and unlike his brother, he is reasonably good at explaining his system to others and getting his point across. Essential to the Clan's running as he is, Silicon has a deep-seated fear of being replaced, which has recently become a very real threat for him. Since his brother Carbon applied for a few of his posts, Silicon has been nothing but cold toward him, despite their formerly good relationship.

Though he's usually up to his neck in responsibilities, Silicon always finds some time to spend with his mate Oxygen. No matter what happens, the two share a very strong bond.
