Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has two heads and seems very inquisitive.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Ernie and Bert are complete opposites of each other. Ernie is friendly and silly and loves to play with the ducks every time this young hatchie takes a bath. Bert, on the other hand, is overly serious and maybe a bit boring, collecting small bent pieces of wire, rectangular pieces of paper, and breeding pigeons; he does the actual washing every time they hit the pond.

Nevertheless the two are the best of friends and even if it seems as if Ernie drives his counterpart nuts, it's always in good fun, and neither of the heads would ever want to live without the other. Besides, Ernie enjoys the taste of pigeons as well as Bert enjoys the taste of ducks, so they have at least something in common.
