Hellfire Wyverns are so named for their foul tempers and fiery visages. Their social structure places all females above all males, due to superior physical characteristics and violent dispositions. Forced subservience of the males causes them to become vicious, petty, antisocial, and passive-aggressive compared to the aggressive and social females. However, orphaned hatchlings raised by foster parents of another species can develop surprisingly even tempers and mellow dispositions, proving that their defining unpleasant nature is, in fact, a learned behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Through a rather odd mistake in the nursery, Voulu was raised by a family of mints. And not just any mints either; they were so passive and jittery that momma didn't even have enough backbone to tell the listless babysitter that no, this was not her son. Her son was green and puny. This one's red and scary. After a couple nights of muted apprehensive "arguing" it was agreed that they would raise Voulu as their own to be their protector.

Because of his upbringing, Voulu grew up into the oddest hellfire. He's a vegetarian and getting him to fight is like trying to break through brick wall with a fist. Yet his massive muscular form, mean squinty eyes, and breed's reputation intimidates most of the others and his pacifistic nature has the other hellfires calling him a worthless pansy. He has very few friends outside his family, which is fine by him anyhow. They're all too big, scary, and nasty anyhow. He'd much rather hide away from those noisy brutes.
