Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Many years have stripped this old dragon of his former name and line, but he still holds himself with a pride befitting his fighting prowess and his luminous gold scales. Torm is the simple name he has chosen to go by, and by that name he swears to defend the clan of ill-fitting dragons that have chosen to stay in his small mountain range.

Eirwyn, a Frilled dragon, has remained his mate after all these years, and as such has stood alongside him. Only his two daughters, Siamorphe and Chalsembyr have remained in the nest, and protect their dame and sire from those that would come to harm the aging Gold dragon.
