Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Z1uIf grew up on the losing side of a war, and when the war was over he found himself in the capital city of his peoples' conquerors. He sometimes fantasised about being the "good guy"—as one would expect—and considered the possibility of an uprising. He never expected these dreams would become a reality, nor that he would be among the few survivors when the city was literally torn from its foundations by powerful magic. He eventually found himself among a small group of survivors, mostly of the conquering people. Still, he wonders where his loyalties lie—either with the people who rescued him, or those who share his culture and faith. He hopes he will not have to choose, but so many died in the cataclysm—including his parents—and his people were never known for mercy... He prays to and daydreams about the gods, for whom he has the utmost respect. If only his current companions had any divine deference themselves.
