Moonstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moons’ power.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Yttrium is quite a free spirit and likes to travel and explore a lot. One day while strolling around a human settlement, he came across several magicians' apprentices, who had never seen an actual dragon face to face—only in books—and had the notion that all dragons had magical powers. Sensing an opportunity, Yttrium took up a role despite actually having no such abilities himself, pulled off several cheap tricks and made up some profound-sounding quotes to impress them. It worked surprisingly well; after some time staying around, he had assembled a sizable group of followers. Even now, Yttrium continues his act and quite enjoys the attention it gets him, though his sister Scandium often scolds him for messing with humans like that.
