Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Curse the Sudden but Inevitable may not look like him, but she's just like her father. Haggis the Fearsome, Ahavah's sole Yulebuck, is well known for his foul mouth and bad attitude. Although he never met her until she was nearly grown, Curse is somehow exactly like her father. It's definitely a case of nature over nurture, because Curse's mother, A Leaf on the Wind, is just a wonderful lady. No one's really sure how she hooked up with Haggis. It was a drunken Christmas party that Leaf never speaks of.

Though her mother never said it to her face, she was relieved when Curse finally grew up and left the cave. Leaf was a peace-loving dragon, and she try as she might, she could never control the impulsive young Curse. Curse lived up to her name and was often suspended from schools and clans because of her vulgar tongue and contemptible attitude. Nowadays Curse keeps mostly to herself. She's secretly practicing her flying skills so that she can one day make her mother proud.
