Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It glows with some form of arcane energy.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

A fairly shy yet incredibly curious hatchling, SunsetLabrynthe (or Sunset, for short) is NiGHTS' adopted sister. She is, though, forever a hatchling due to a freak accident caused by the elder dragons of her previous clan. After the incident, the other dragons left her to die... That was, before NiGHTS found her and took her back to the cave, where KimokoTheDragon and the other residents of the cave decided to take her in as one of their own. When she is not watching her big brother, Sunset is often found taking a nap, playing with the other hatchlings and dragons, or reading some of the stories that Kimoko has written down.
