Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
Feisty and energetic, whiptail dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.
Rockstripe patrols the southern border of Feline clan's territory which borders the wildest and most untamed part of the area. Its thick jungle canopy is inviting to other rogue dragons and they often attempt to invade but are soon chased off. Rockstripe is quick, funny, humorous, and loud-mouthed, but loves every minute in Feline clan. He fell in love with Rosefang, a Rosebud dragon, and she gave him a daughter, Skydapple, who is leader of the southern border patrol. He admires his daughter's strength and ability to lead, something she surely didn't get from him.
Rockstripe is a medium brown with robin's egg blue stripes, thus named "Rock" for his coloring and "stripe" for his bright stripes. He frequently uses his tail against invaders and is rather successful in abating them.
