Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shimmy is a quiet, patient, and self-assured dragon. Although his mate does everything to remind him that she finds his looks passable at best, he isn't bothered by it. Because he knows that looks are far from everything, they come a far distant third or fourth in his list of desirable traits, and because he knows that looking and acting are two very different things, he just smiles at her excitement when they meet another Nebula and waits until they are at home. In their lair she just cares about him and that's the only thing that matters to Shimmy.
