Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. The reason for Shot Put's name is a mystery to all except herself. Her favorite sport is lobbing a round stone or metal lump as far as possible -- among her royal blue brethren, her arm strength is unmatched. Some years ago, she held a rock above her head to demonstrate how not to throw it, and lost her grip. Dragons whisper that that dent in her skull caused her to give herself "Shot Put" as a name.
