Hellfire Wyverns are so named for their foul tempers and fiery visages. Their social structure places all females above all males, due to superior physical characteristics and violent dispositions. Forced subservience of the males causes them to become vicious, petty, antisocial, and passive-aggressive compared to the aggressive and social females. However, orphaned hatchlings raised by foster parents of another species can develop surprisingly even tempers and mellow dispositions, proving that their defining unpleasant nature is, in fact, a learned behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hades has a horrible temper, often challenging others for power. When he was young, Hades would often have skirmishes with Zapp, an Electric dragon, as he is one of the leading authorities amongst the others. Hades resented Zapp, because while Hades valued strength, Zapp valued morals and wisdom. The conflicts became more and more violent until Midnight stepped in. Midnight, a Nocturne dragon, didn't move much by day, rarely voiced his opinion, and basically held cold indifference toward everything. Hades had finally defeated Zapp, but that wasn't enough, he just kept fighting anyway. Midnight leapt up, and before he could react, Midnight was on top of him, crushing his wing pipe. Midnight beat him senseless for what felt like forever, until Zapp told him that was enough, and Midnight returned to the darkest corner of the cave. Hades quit after that. Since then he has matured, and though his temper is a force to be reckoned with, Torch, his mate, keeps him in check.
