Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Except for the occasional flicker of movement, it remains inanimate.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Major Star is a commissioned officer of the Stone Army and currently serving in the Pentacave with the Joint Chiefs of Stone, General Hospital, General Store, General Mayhem and Rear Admiral Butts. Major Star shares a cave office (no windows) with Major Hazard and Commander Todoit. The officers are detailed to handle petitions from the ranks of the service dragons. Examples of their daily work include the complaint of inappropriate handling of Private Parts, allegations of assault against Corporal Punishment or the improper haircut of Major Eyesore. There also was an unauthorized assumption of authority—a known General Error turned out to be a Major Issue, who was put under arrest by the Military Police with the words: "I have a Warrant, Officer."
