White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Thornpaw is named for her characteristic limp, which she's had her whole life.  She was the chief healer at the Unicorn Mage's court until the day she set out to rescue a nearby dragon community from an encroaching fog that destroyed everything in its path, and was herself caught by it.  When the fog finally released her, Thornpaw was centuries removed from her own time, with all she'd ever known reduced to mere myth and legend.  Unable to come to terms with her new life, Thornpaw wandered through the world like a ghost, growing thinner and more ethereal with each passing day, until a chance encounter with draconic folklorist Kyti Fallingleaf helped restore her.  The two now travel together, and are finding increasingly more convincing evidence that the Unicorn Mage's court might yet live again, not least of which is the discovery of a probable reincarnation of the Unicorn Mage herself.
