Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When the owner suddenly decided she wanted another egg from Edward and Mina, all dragons had bad omens about it. They were right: months and months of attempts lead to no eggs, while the owner became more and more obsessed by her quest and kept stalking poor Edward to convince him to generate another little Magi.

Finally the egg came, but it was too weak to survive: the shell was so soft that everyone could see the baby dragon inside. There was only a way to save the creature, and Crimson Bloody Cinnia didn't hesitate: she bit the egg, turning it into a vampire.

The baby survived and is now a rather clumsy member of the cave coven. Hatchlings love to hear tales about his adventures, especially of the time he decided to be a "real blood sucker" and chose a Geode as his first victim.
