Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As the colonel of a group of Purple Dorsal Dragons, this male has taken the name of Colonel. When there is a situation, Colonel is serious and stubborn. He never gives up and has a hard time retreating when such an order is given. He fights quickly and fast, though he is loyal to his companions to the point that he'll jump in the way of an attack frequently. Colonel has been known for taking more than two attackers at once, which has taken its toll on his body and left him with many painful scars.

Colonel is close to each of the members of his group. He sees them as his family and will protect them with his life. Funny enough, Colonel is not serious when the atmosphere is peaceful. He flirts with female dragons that the group meets when they travel. He likes to joke and tease the younger members of his group, trying to make them angry so he can run away from their angry claws and teeth.

Colonel is a cold dragon in battle, but he loves his family with all his heart.
