When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Warilian is the dragon equivalent of someone who will never leave home. Terrified, he sits in the lake below the cave and only comes up when the chosen dragon for the day brings him food. The other dragons would like to leave him be so he can starve and maybe actually DO something but BarkingPup insists he is fed twice a day so they comply, albeit with plenty of grumbling. He has a large imagination and listened to the many stories the adults shared with the hatchlings. Thus, Warilian heard of horrible deaths, close calls, wild creatures and other adventures. Once the water could no longer fit in the cave pool, he was tossed over the edge of the cliff and landed in the lake where he remains to this day.
