Swallowtail Dragons are graceful and quick flyers, much like their namesake bird. They are capable of precise aerial acrobatics, and can reach very high altitudes. Because of this, humans observing these dragons are often astonished at how large they are when confronted up close. A Swallowtail’s diet consists of insects and small mammals plentiful in temperate forests. These dragons are also made remarkable by their paper-thin wing membranes, which allow light to pass through, creating an astonishing effect on starry nights.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

The sky was a perfect blue, shaded with wisps of clouds that drifted accross the sun and momentarily obstructed its golden rays. A lone Swallowtail drifted freely, the sun and a single carrion bird circling below her only companions. For many of her breed, flying is a skill, a talent even, envied by others. But for Azuer'lei, it is an escape. Born with a strange sense of intuition, she picks up on others' emotions and feels them churning inside her as though the were her own. Often times, she is filled with a torrent of so many emotions: burning rage and deep-down loathing, heart-wrenching sorrow, blinding pain, giddy joy. She know longer knows which thoughts are hers and which are not. Only flying; the cool, clear air stinging her thin scales, the sun warming her back, the solitude of soaring countless miles above the earth can clear her mind and remind her who she really is.
