Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Despite being a Vampire dragon, Underworld Blood is one of the friendliest dragons in the clan. She is very cheerful and optimistic and rarely ever gets angry. Unfortunately, she is often misunderstood by the other members of the clan because of her species. Many of them avoid her or act hostile towards her, so she has very few friends. She doesn't let this stop her and continues to try and make friends with the other dragons (she tends to scare many of the hatchlings in the process). Underworld tries to get them to accept her by resisting the urge to drink blood from other creatures. In the end, she starves herself and her human has to make her feed on livestock. Though Underworld looks happy on the outside, she is secretly still depressed about the clan abandoning the egg she bit.
