Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It glows with some form of arcane energy.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Leetle Mage was discovered by Myrnekal on one of his expeditions to explore the hidden corners of Dragonhaven Island (Dragonhaven Island having once been inhabited by a large magi community, there are more hidden corners than square footage to contain them).  The magi hatchling had been sitting on a stone slab marked with a pattern of black and white squares, with no food or water around, but in no sign of distress.  Myrnekal couldn't bear to leave Leetle Mage there, and so brought him back to live with the rest of the foster hatchlings.

Leetle Mage is quiet, rather serious, and very adept at magic.  He refuses to speak about anything that happened to him before Myrnekal found him, and as a result Norivan keeps a close eye on him.  After all, Norivan has not yet been able to find anything in the records about why the magi colony vanished.
