It’s an undead baby dragon, produced by a failed magical spell. It probably would be cute if it weren’t partially decayed.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Delilah was the picture of innocence before her untimely death. She was a very polite and well behaved little girl. She loved exploring the caves around the home of her clan. She loved nothing more than to discover tiny new creatures that hid in the crevices and crawlspaces of the cave. Glowing mosses hidden deep within the darkness, small pools filled with cold, eyeless fishes and beautiful rock formations; she loved exploring all of them. After venturing too far into the seemingly endless caves one day, she became lost. Unable to regain her bearings, she began to starve. She ate all the beautiful luminescent mosses and tiny eyeless fish, but it wasn't enough to fuel her small body. She died quietly and alone in the dark. A wandering necromancer stumbled upon her while collecting ingredients for her potions. She revived the hatchling with a few words of power and they have been inseparable ever since.
