Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It hatched with fins instead of legs and did not seem to react well to freshwater, so you relocated it to the nearest ocean.

Its dorsal fin has grown larger, and it rarely surfaces anymore. It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

EverlastingWave is a Deep Ocean Dragon hatchling with an odd life. She was abandoned as an egg, and hatched alone deep under water. She survived by eating small fish and hiding from large and dangerous creatures. She couldn't find enough to eat because there was no one to teach her about edible underwater plants or to teach her to hunt. Then she was attacked by a large squid, which dragged her up towards the surface, as a midnight snack. A sperm whale attacked and poor EverlastingWave was left alone, starving, injured and dying. Her body was found washed up on the beach, and amazingly she was still just barely holding on to life. A kind Horse Dragon named KissKeeper found her, and nursed her back to health in a saltwater pool in a small cave. They grew very close, and mentally talk at least once every day.
