Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
Moonstone dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow in with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moon’s power.
Ahalmez of Xibalba grew up with Ahaltocob of Xibalba. They are very much in tune with each other as if they were twins. Their song is as soft as milk and as sweet as nectar. Anyone that hears their faint voices becomes immediately healed of any illnesses. This rare phenomenon is difficult to come across because they're very shy and like to keep hidden. Their song attracted a young Moonstone dragon Ephtu, and they have become inseparable from him ever since.
