Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Morning's Sunlight wakes every morning at the crack of dawn to begin her work, and finishes every night at midnight.  She uses her powers to keep herself awake after the long nights.  She is a member of the Dawn—Dusk Draco Clan.  She has a very important job.  She searches from the ocean to the highest mountain for abandoned hatchlings and eggs to take home to the Clan.  Then she consults with every one on if they should keep the egg or not.  She flies it back if it is rejected.  She just began her work, so she has only rescued a few eggs.  She is very dedicated.
