Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, the sky has been full of very dark clouds.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing. It’s learned to use its new wings quickly and you now have a hard time keeping it on the ground.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Although a member of the Peaceful Pack, Rex can hardly be considered peaceful. Like all Storm dragons, he is fierce and unpredictable, caring little for the effect his actions have on others. The adults of the Pack have painstakingly tried to teach him better manners and to think before he acts, but to no avail. He will try to shoot lightning bolts at the other hatchlings on the (abundant) occasions when he gets irritated for some reason or another. He spends most of his days trying to create great clouds and thunderstorms with the feeble magic he possesses. Only at night Rex wants the sky to be clear. Only then will he sit perfectly still, and gaze at the pale light of the moon. Only then the rest of the Peaceful Pack can sleep peacefully.
