When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. It is believed he is the dragon that appears often in dreams of sailors and those lost at sea, guiding them to the correct path if they are to lose their way. Thus he has been called "The Serpent of Dreams".

In reality, he is an actual dragon that is very shy and often hides in random mists and fogs due to his fear of new people. The few friends he does have, both dragon and human, had to spend years trying to gain his trust. His fear might have been caused by some reckless humans, but the truth might never be known.

He loves to swim about randomly, and when he finds a lost sailor in his lake (or on his occasional short trips into the open sea), if there is no mist or fog, he will merely swim under the boat and tug it to shore before quickly swimming home.
