Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Midnight was on of the first rescued by a strange woman who always wore a black hood. She says she is deformed. The exact age of this woman is a mystery but since she was the first thing that Midnight saw when she was born Midnight trusts her.The woman in the hood gave Midnight her name and trained her in battle according to her breed. She would defend the woman in the hood with her life though nothing has happened to her yet. The sanctuary cave was started with four abandoned dragons but now has grown with more of Midnight's breed coming in. despite this Midnight has chosen to breed with a male not of her species. A docile male dubbed Fear Himself as a joke.
