When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Laurel was separated from her parents when she was still an egg. Thankfully, a local dragon raiser happened upon her egg while he was out for a stroll with one of his dragons, and took her in. Despite a worrying premature crack in her shell, she hatched into a healthy hatchling and grew up into an energetic adult. She now lives in a large lake nearby her rescuer's residence, where she enjoys toying with the local fishermen by stealing their fishing lines and rocking their boats. The local fishermen have taken to calling her "that rascal orphan Laurel" and the "orphan" tag-on has stuck. Rather than be ashamed to not know her parents, she is proud that she survived to become so fit and strong despite the adversity she faced so early in her life.
