Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Little Black Warrior likes to think of herself as the bravest warrior ever. When she was a hatchling she always picked fights, and to the surprise of many of Niva's dragons, she actually won them. Upon the day she was going to be an adult, a horrible event took place. Magi Mist, Magi Spear's young son, was doing an experiment on some rocks around the cave, using some ancient magic. But alas, he was not the greatest magician, and the spell hit Little Black Warrior, making her eternally young. Immediately all of the dragons went for Queen Niva's help. Queen Niva tried as hard as she could, but she could not fix the ancient magic, and so Little Black Warrior remained little forever.
