Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very festively colored.
And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Time for Elf the Holly dragon, due to his stunted growth, is certainly young at heart. He has been described as goofy, fun-loving, and having a heart of gold. He enjoys singing, making decorations, making and distributing gifts, eating sweet foods, and simply being happy to spread Christmas cheer. His best friend, Jovi Yule, has always been more challenged in spreading Christmas cheer, so he has been given the responsibility to help her.
No other Christmas dragon in EG's Cave is more excited on Christmas morning. Time for Elf buzzes around excitedly in the skies, following the various Christmas dragons as they diligently travel to deliver gifts to dragons and humans alike.
