Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A wonderful sight, Ratna's scales glitter in the sun, dazzling those around her. Easy to get along with, Ratna is well liked by the majority of the Ruda Clan's members. However, she is still known as the Avaricious, prone to greed and envy and has a desire for material objects, namely gemstones. Her nest is lined with precious gems of all sizes, shapes, and colors, but this rarely causes problems. After all, wealth is a sign of strength, and the more a clan accumulates, the higher its standing in the dragon world. The only times issues come up with Ratna is if she gets a little too greedy at mealtime, often attempting to sneak a bite of another dragon's share of food. Although she's known to successfully pilfer jewels from dragons and humans alike, Ratna currently has got her sights on a different rock: a handsome Ruda Clan leader named Alexandros the Unmoving.
