Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Robert is Rae Mary's protector and companion. He is the unwaveringly silent guardian of the MartinDraconis Clan's hatching caves. Occasionally he will wander out of the cave to watch Rae as she teaches the young, or tends to her gardens. He is otherwise often a stout and unshifting but ever diligent protector.  Robert has dreams of watching his own hatchlings play out in the caves and warrens he protects. Lovingly he watches over the young. Feeling pride as they grow to be strong and productive members of the clan. Robert was known for rescuing Heather Burris, but after she cried HUMAN too many times, and knowing that his clan has a special pact with the Human clans, he got tired of her games and settled into his sedate and gratifying life.  Rae very much appreciates this young dragons help and protection, she considers him a true friend!
