Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Always fascinated by the stories of the phoenix, this cocky male now imagines himself to be one. Like the noble birds, he too leaves his old ugliness and is born anew--at least when it comes to dropping tattered scales to make room for far more magnificent ones. While all luminas are vain, he's reached the level where even his fellow luminas find him obnoxious, and there are many half-serious grumblings about setting the oaf on fire and seeing how much of a phoenix he is THEN. He claims they're just jealous because his tears can heal wounds.
