Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ashara loves everyone. She always sees the best in other dragons and believes that, whatever their actions, they mean well. In spite of this, Ashara is not naive. She knows that even the best intentions can go wrong. Still, Ashara's loving personality has made her a favorite with the other dragons and it is difficult to find a dragon in the Cave who does not adore Ashara as much as she adores everyone.
