White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Temas is chief healer for Starwander Weyr. She has ambitions beyond the infirmary, though she does find healing to be fulfilling, and has plans to one day command one of the other traveling weyrs. Temas has been friends with Dupaild for years, though this was complicated for a time by her marriage to a mutual friend, and both still hope the friendship might yet develop into something more. She's also grown close to the rest of the weyr over the years, especially Dasoong, whom she advises on matters of emotions and fitting in. Temas is a dragon of many talents, enjoying dancing, plays, and weekly games of strategy with the rest of the senior dragons. She's formed a theatrical group and has managed to persuade most of the weyr, even Dasoong, to perform at least once.
