Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its skin is smooth and doesn’t seem to have any color to it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Pigment is a very unlucky dragon. When her owner found her egg, she was almost dead, and barely made it through the hatching process. Soon after she hatched, she almost drowned. When she had barely grown her wings, she had an accident with a young Magi dragon, causing it to cast a spell on her stopping her growing any older. She is surprisingly optimistic about her bad fortune; she has never once expected one of her accidents before it happened, and she seems to be an amazingly fast healer, to the point where some believe she has White ancestry. Her unfortunate streak seems to be wearing off as of late; she has not had an accident in months.
