Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Armageddon was a troubling case at first. He was quiet and rather unresponsive with other hatchlings; even when the healer, Snowcrest Winterfeather, checked him over, there was nothing wrong with him. Curiously enough, it was later discovered that Armageddon's timidity was likely caused by his parent's rejection of him; his parents wanted a sweetling child, not a black. After encouragement from his best friend (and now his mate), the gold dragon Mystic Magic, Armageddon began to speak and interact normally, and became a hit among the hatchlings for his humor and outgoing nature. Unlike most of the Black dragons the clan has met in the wild, Armageddon is not vicious and short-tempered, although no dragon would ever say he is not fit for battle.
