Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has shiny fish-like scales and loves water.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This little hatchling is the bane of all would be scholars. It haunts the halls of schools and hides in the crevices of walls and desks, waiting to devour its next victim. All students shriek in horror and tremble in terrible anxiety at the sight of this hatchling.

However, to the prepared student, this hatchling poses no danger and can be tamed as a temporary pet. One thing this hatchling is known to do is fetch apples, apricots, and other goodies. Very few humans are able to tame this little one and those that do only do so temporarily.
