Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s extremely curious and seems to enjoy exploring the area around it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

A tiny purple dragon, Valdis Aoife sits quietly alone on a cliff top above her peers. Gently sighing, a little smoke rises from her nostrils as she lies in the sun, ready for another day of the solitude which is her life. A timid little dragoness, she is constantly thinking and dreaming of a future long past due. Frozen from her first hatchling stage, her future goals and dreams of a mate and children have been shattered...leaving nothing but an empty husk of a dream deferred.
