Diamondwing Dragons are named for the myriad tiny scales that grow on their wing membranes, lending them a faceted, lustrous appearance. These meticulous creatures will spend months ranging far and wide to collect the shiniest trinkets and gemstones to adorn their nests. Once his nest is complete, a male Diamondwing will perform an elaborate aerial dance hoping to impress potential mates with his beauty and prowess.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Elunder is a typical diamondwing dragon, incredibly caring, loyal, yet greedy. Her role is guarding the Home Cave of those under the Pillow Monarchy. She's often the one who tries to make contact with the elusive Scarlet Green Fever, or she just wants to use the clifftop as a viewing point in her patrols. She takes many dragons under her wing to train them into hunters and guards; it is rare to see her on patrols without a few of them, trailing behind her, and many of her former students offer gemstones to her as thanks or as bribes to lay off of them a little with their errors in flight and judgement.

Although she claims to have no favourites, she has adopted a caveborn Nhiostrife hatchling as her own. It was an extremely beautiful day for her when she finally learned how to fly. Elunder's mate, Illud, shares her pride, and the two spoil their many 'brats' with love and way more freedom than most parents would allow.

Her favourite holiday is, of course, Mother's Day.
